The Expanding Worlds Podcast
Hosted since 2017 by Debra Caldow the Expanding Worlds podcast was the beginning in many ways of what Red Giraffe Solutions has become. When we realized that our daughter was heading toward the end of full-time education, and we didn’t have a proper plan for What Next we started to look for ideas.
This led us to start a podcast called Journey Skills so named because we were looking for ideas to help us help her build the skills she needed for the journey ahead. Later the podcast was renamed Expanding Worlds as it became obvious that through sharing what others were doing, we could play a small role in helping to expand the way we think about the future of our children.
The mantra of the podcast has always been Sharing Stories – Sharing Solutions. We have always believed there were 4 key areas our daughter needed our support with
Daily Living skills that support independent living
Having a purpose to her day
Enjoying meaningful relationships and
Having the financial security to do all these things when we were no longer able to support her.
